Located in the Mediterranean climate of British Columbia's southern Gulf Islands, this oceanfront residence rises seamlessly on a rock base made from sandstone quarried on site. Ten-foot wide doors fully retract allowing ocean breezes to waft through during the summer. Exterior elements flow into the house blurring the distinction between the building and it's natural context. The wood in and out the house was milled from recycled Douglas Fir. This house has been featured in several publications including Western Living, Better Homes & Gardens, Beautiful Homes, Style At Home, the Vancouver Sun and the Victoria Times-Colonist.
